KNX Data Acquisition Driver Add-on Overview

The KNX Add-on is a data acquisition driver designed to communicate with KNX devices via up to 16 KNX/IP interfaces using group data access.

The KNX Add-on is only supported on the following operating systems, with the exclusion of any virtual environment:

  • Windows 7 SP1 (x64),
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x64).

The KNX Add-on can:

  • Receive unsolicited data changes
  • Send commands
  • Poll data

There are no configuration dialog's specific to the KNX Data Acquisition Driver. At the time of writing, it uses a combination of dedicated text files (.dat) and regular configuration features.

The Falcon Runtime v2.2 must be installed, following the manufacturer's instructions, on the host PC. It is available free of charge from the KNX web site https://my.knx.org/en/downloads/falcon. You will need to register to have access to the Falcon API download page.
