Summary:

Explanation of the Audit files

Details:

The file AUDIT.LAS is a periodical snapshot of counters. When running a project, PcVue generates an AUDIT.LAS file. This file is automatically deleted when PcVue is stopped. If PcVue is stopped abnormally, the AUDIT.LAS file is not deleted. Instead its contents are copied into the T file.

Periodically, PcVue creates two files with the information content of the AUDIT.LAS file:

  • AUDITMXXX.txt is a brief snapshot.
  • AUDITFXXX.txt is a full snapshot.

The characters XXX represent a number between 1 and 100. PcVue saves the first snapshot as number 1. Each new snapshot receives the next number. When it reaches 100, PcVue saves the next snapshot as number 1.

These files are updated every 1,800 seconds. This is set by default in PcVue.

They are saved to a folder. See About PcVue Audit File. for its location.

How to start the counters

It is best to start the counters for all projects. They are started when a user with the username sauditon is logged on. To log on this user :

  1. Press F2 key
  2. Select Logon
  3. Enter username sauditon, do not specify a password, then press OK

These parameters are kept in the TUNING section of the file PARAM.DAT, so that they will be executed the next time you start your application.
