This article explains you how to use Context Variables to display information in a Comment field.


Details:

If you put a Command animation (such as Send or Link) on a drawing element as you build a symbol, it is useful for the User that you display the title and domain of the associated variable.

You can easily do so by using substitution strings directly in the Comment field, as shown in the example below.

Example

The variable information for building the valve animation is as follows:

Variable_info_dialog

In the example, Variable Title is displayed in the Comment field:

Variable_info_in_mimic

In Run mode when the cursor enters the Command object area, the Comment appears as follows:

Variable_info_in_Run_mode

Warn

This only works with particular substitution strings.
