The OPC UA gateway is used as a bridge between the PcVue OPC DA client and server and third party OPC UA clients and servers. It enables the use of PcVue as OPC UA server for Data Access.
Installation :
The gateway is provided as a self-installing executable along with a license file named OEM.ini. This license file includes both the licensing information and the default configuration settings required for the gateway to operate properly with PcVue. It is important that the OEM.ini file is placed in the same directory as the executable. Launching the executable will initiate the installation process.

Configuration :
After installation, two tools become available:
- UaGateway Administration Tool :
This tool is used for configuring the OPC UA Gateway and managing certificates. You can launch the Administration Tool either by right-clicking the OPC UA gateway icon in the system tray or by accessing it via the Windows Start menu.
- User Account Setup: You must specify the user account that will run the OPC UA Gateway service. Note that this account must have a password. Once the user account is defined, click “Apply” to save the password in the service configuration.

- Set the communication port to 48050 and configure the security settings based on your needs:
For debugging and testing, select “None – None” (no security).
For real applications, choose a high-security option, such as “Basic256 – Sign & Encrypt”.

- Certificate Management: Certificates are managed in the “Certificates” tab. Be sure to validate a certificate the first time you connect to any new device.

2. UaGateway Configuration Tool :
- This tool is used to add, configure, and connect to both OPC COM DA and OPC UA servers.
- Starting the Gateway:
Before using this tool, ensure that the UA Gateway is running. You can start it by right-clicking its icon in the system tray and selecting “Start”.

- Configuring OPC COM DA Servers: In the “Device Address Space” tab, click on “OPC COM DA Servers”.
To add the server for your PcVue instance, click the “Add server” button at the bottom right of the window, select SV.OPCDAServer.1, and proceed as instructed :

- User Identity and DCOM Configuration: You need to launch PcVue using an interactive user identity and ensure the proper DCOM configuration, as permitted by the UaGatewayUsers group. Follow the required instructions and then restart PcVue :
