This article explains in general how to install a ADO.NET Provider for PcVue.

It applies to all Providers, if one Provider requests a special setup a dedicated document will be added in the Provider category.

Version management

Version management is independent of PcVue. This means that you can update and deliver this provider without requiring the customer to update PcVue.

Installation

The installation of an ADO.NET provider is independent from the PcVue installation. The ADO.NET provider must be installed on any computer acting as producer station for a SQL Connection linked to this provider (according to the multi station architecture).

The following screenshot is extracted from the REST-API ADO.NET Provider.

1. Download the zip attached to the article. Unzip it and run the msi, at the prompt click “Next” :

2.When prompted to elevate your rights, click “Yes”:

3. At the end, click “Finish”:

The installation is complete!
The Provider is now visible in PcVue Data Connections (Data source: Integrated data providers)
Restart the “Sv DbConnect” service to make sure that the new Provider is taken into account by the service.
