Summary:

This article describes a workaround for a user to close a mimic window in the HMI when they do not have access rights to PcVue in Design mode.
Solution:

A user with no rights to Design mode (to access mimic windows and configuration) cannot close the mimics by using the standard Close button (in the upper right corner of the window).

  1. In a text editor, open the file PARAMWS.DAT (held in the C directory of the PcVue project).
  2. Change the following line:

RightCloseCde,0,0

to:

RightCloseCde,0,1

  1. Restart PcVue.

The user will be able to close a window by clicking on the standard Windows Close button.
