Summary:

How to configure Fetch/Write communication via a CP1543-1 for the S7-1500.
Originator: BO

Details:

This article shows you how to configure the S7-1500 as passive communication partner for the Fetch/Write communication. A CP1543-1 is needed for this. The PcVue Siemens Master driver utilises Fetch/Write access.

  1. In STEP 7 Professional V13 (TIA-Portal) you configure the S7-1500 with a CP1543-1. Network the CP1543-1 with an Industrial Ethernet subnetwork.
  2. In the Properties of the CP1543-1 you open the option “Settings > FETCH/WRITE Configuration”.
  3. You enable the “FETCH/WRITE configuration” option.
  4. Enter TSAPs to use the “Fetch/Write” service via an ISO-on-TCP connection and/or ports to use the “Fetch/Write” service via a TCP connection.

  5. In the Properties of the CPU you open the “Protection” option.
  6. Under “Connection mechanisms” you enable the “Permit Access with PUT/GET communication from remote partner (PLC, HMI, OPC, …)” function.

With these settings the communication partner can already connect, for example on TSAP “Tsap” or on Port 1025. There is no need to configure a connection in addition in the Network View.

The FETCH/WRITE configuration offers the option “S7 Addressing operating mode”. If you enable this option, addressing is done byte by byte. If you disable the “S7 Addressing operating mode”, addressing is done word by word (S5 Addressing).

The data blocks that the partner is to access must not be configured with optimized block access. Open the Properties of the data block and under “Attributes” you disable the “Optimized block access” option.
