Summary:

How to increase the Lonworks limits in the Windows Registry for projects with more than 20000 tags.
Details:

  1. Run (Windows + R) Windows registry editor (regedit).
  2. Go to the folder HKLM\SOFTWARE\LonWorks\VNI\Global.
  3. If the key does not exist, add a “DWORD value” and give it this name “Max Private NVs”.
  4. (This key is case sensitive and need space between words).
  5. Force the value to 30000 (7530h) (If the Dword already exists replace the current value by 30000).
  6. For each Lonworks database in use make the following change.
    1. Locate HKLM\SOFTWARE\LonWorks\NSS\Configuration\LonDB_Name\VNIs\_Default.
    2. Add a “DWORD value” and give it this name “Max Private NVs”. This key is case sensitive and needs the space between words.
    3. Force this value to 64000 (FA00h).

  7. For each Lonworks database in use make the following change.
    1. Locate HKLMSOFTWARELonWorksNSSConfigurationLonDB_NameVNIs_Default.
    2. Add a “DWORD value” and give it this name “Max Private NVs”. This key is case sensitive and needs the space between words.
    3. Force this value to 64000 (FA00h).

  8.  Restart the computer to take the changes into account
